Scribble
Scribble is an Accordion book that is composed of 5 etchings and a front and back cover etching. Some versions of the book are hand colored.
The book is a playful meditation on the value of allowing myself the artistic freedom to be less concerned with content and execution, and more concerned with making playful and evocative marks. Originally done as charcoal drawings, I converted these to etchings for this book.
The covers are printed on Gampi and Kozo papers, and the book pages are printed on BFK Rives etching paper in various colors.

What Am I Seeing
In this accordion book I used 4 etcings to explore the different graphic
and compositional elements that
interest me when making art.
These images were all done from observation and utilized line etching
and roulette work to obtain the graphic results I wanted. Some of the
etchings are are also worked into
with engraved lines.
The typographical treatment was the most playful element. A friend reminded methat I'd been a graphic designer in mycareer and so I let the type treatment be less traditional than in all of my previous. books.
The covers are printed on archival paper of various colors. The inside pages are BFK Rives, again, in
various colors.
